paypal do not need to know how the item is packed or what form of postage is done.

All the buyer does is pay for the purchase and the seller posts it.

The only thing paypal want is the % of the payment made to them.

Would the hand packed parcels have the same Paypal protection as the prepaid satchels, I presume you mean the click & send ebay satchels? If not why would you be leaving yourself vulnerabe by offering any choice?

Thank you for your replies. I have been sending parcels hand packed at the charge of $6.60 up to 500gms whereas a satchel from the post office for 500gms is $7.40.

Just trying to save buyers 80cents but as you say I have no protection if things get lost. I am only selling low cost items

Unless you are sending via click & Send, which is cheaper by the way, or registering those parcels, you have no seller protection anyway,   As said, PP are really only interested in their percentage,  until it comes to a dispute,  it is kind of you wanting to save your buyers a few cents, but it is up to you to send by a safe method to protect yourself.

Before click & send I always used my own packaging as it was cheaper than the satchels but cannot see any advantage in using the ordinary red satchels now.

If you have your own packaging supplies then i would certainly use that and not the satchels, and I never offer buyers a choice. I am responsible for the items arriving safely so I am going to be the one that decides how it is sent.

I buy my 500g and 3kg ebay satchels in bulk. The 500g costs $6.20 to send and the 3kg costs $10.55 and as the others have said this is standard domestic Australia wide. AP also have c&s boxes now, and to research c&s go to the AP website, or use the link on ebay, good luck

You purchase your Click and Send satchels on ebay,

go here.. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/australiapoststore/m.html?item=150723585156&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562

then you go to the Au Post click and send site and register, you process and pay the postage for the parcels online,  then hand them over the counter at your post office so they are scanned and you are issued with a receipt.

The click & send site has all the relevant information and instructions, so read up on the information there, but if you get stuck they have a phone number to call and they will walk you through any issues you might have.
