I purchased 2 items and the seller lives 30 minutes from me. Postage is going to cost $30 but items can be colleccted when we go over. Seller is saying this is not allowed, some policy set by Ebay. Is this true? Do I have to pay for postage?

If the seller did not state in thier listings that pick up was available, then it is not available. The majority of small sellers on ebay sell from thier homes, and it is up to them whether they make thier homes available to strangers or not. Some sellers are elderly, some have small children, and it is their home, not a shop front. You should never just asssume that because a seller is near you, that you are welcome at thier home. You will have to pay for postage this time, and in the future always ask before you purchase. Any feedback you leave should NOT have anything to do with the seller not allowing to pick up, it is thier choice.
