Is it legal for sellers to extend listing time close to the end of auction?

The handbag I am bidding for should have finished 6 mins ago but suddenly I notecthe auction time has been extended by 2 hours....this has occurred on 2 other auctions. I am a newbie and wondered if this is legal?

It has nothing to do with being 'legal' and it is also not possible. There must be a discrepancy with the time on your computer, and also ebay works on Sydney time so there may be a discrepancy there. But there is very little a seller can change on a listing once it has bids, and they certainly cant alter the ending time this close to the end of an auction.
