Why does eBay allow seller to refund payment .This seller flagged as posted 5 days before cancelling

Seller said item auto relisted by EBay yet was flagged posted 5 days prior to cancellation of payment refunded now I have to find another even though seller took 4 days after purchases **bleep**ged posted, not fair on buyer who relies on getting the item they won, seller should pay compensation in refund to buyer.

While it is not acceptable to mark an item as posted, then refund as not available several days later, there have been several reports on the boards from different sellers that items with no stock have been getting relisted in error by ebay. Every-one is human and can make a mistake. Perhaps your seller did a bulk posting that day and marked your item as posted in error, it does happen. Check thier feedback, if it is otherwise good and they dont have a history of doing this, it could well be a genuine situation.

As far as comensation goes, what for? You have lost nothing but time. How do you think sellers feel when buyers dont pay, and the seller has to wait for 8 days, on top of the time waited for payment, before they can relist thier item and hopefully sell it again? Should they be compensated for thier lost time as well?
