timeline for non delivery lodgement

I purchased an item 30 days ago and still have not recieved any shipping info. The seller has contacted me one week ago to say he had some personal issues and stated the item is being posted.  It is from overseas

How long do I have to lodge a compalint after the purchase date if the item is not recieved?   Is it 90 days?

You have up to 180 days to open a complaint in paypal.

In ebay you have 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

If it is more than a month since the item was paid for and it is not yet posted I think I would be a bit wary of the seller's intentions.  Don't let an overseas seller (particularly an Asian seller) string you along until it is too late for a dispute.

You can always open a dispute and get your money back.  If the item then arrives you can repay the seller.
