Bought item then seller cancelled order

I ordered an item and paid for it then asked seller(nicely)a day later would they be shipping it soon (as half the time you are left in limbo)then blow me down they messaged me with feeble excuse its restricted in Australia. I'm making a complaint to Ebay about this. This is wrong. Imagine the scenario in a store and you bought an item them the shopkeeper refused to hand it over. GIVE ME A BREAK. I think they got peeved off about me asking for shipping query and cancelled order.

What was the item? They could be right.

eBay won't act. The seller can cancel a sale as long as you get your refund. Plenty of ways out (it's lost its broken etc etc) so feedback is really the only recourse.

What was the item? You'd be surprised what is a restricted import these days.

The item was a 10kg pack of dry pet food. It was from the US. I had been after some for a long time. Shipping was $US12.00 so it was a bargain. It has been taken off their website now. Next time I am going to wait a few days til I message the seller, especially US sellers.The seller offered me a discount on next purchase.

I bought same type of food from then on Amazon and they shipped quickly and there were no problems.
