Paying item off over time.

I'm presuming this is what you mean:

pp credit.JPG

In short, it doesn't work. Not for Australians.

This only appears on US eBay because it's only offered within the US.

You can click 'see terms' to find out how it would work if it was available to you, just for your own curiosity.

Paying item off over time.

Your asking for all sorts of trouble there, if you do multiple payments for one item you wont have any protection from paypal ( happy to be corrected on that).

I cant see where it says pay off over time.
I checked eBay US and that page does not say pay off either.
Maybe the OP is seeing it somewhere in the PayPal advert as i am aware PP actually do offer a credit/finance service.

Michelle, are you sure you have the right item number?

That listing is for a US$500 swimsuit with $50 postage and immediate payment required.....no mention of paying over time.

If that is what Michelle means then she had better investigate it very thoroughly.

I believe some Australians have been able to access it but now there is legal action going on in the USA because paypal has misled customers about the T & C.

Yup, they had to pay out $25 mil because they signed people up to it (formerly Bill Me Later) without their knowledge. Smiley Surprised

The only similar kind of service I've heard Aussies being able to access is the one where the money is deducted from a bank account a couple of weeks after the purchase, but that's for the full amount and doesn't incur any additional charges, unlike the credit one (AFAIK - some Australians might be able to use the credit, maybe if they're registered in the US?).
