Does anyone have a list of accounts that commit FRAUD by selling FAKE Coins as REAL ones ??

There seem to be a growing number of accounts that offer Silver Coins for bidding which are FAKE but are presented as REAL Silver Coins --- These accounts just keep coming = even to the point of being issued by the same people time after time under different names and locations.

When asked if the item is REAL = their response (if you can get one)  is YES which turns out to be a DELIBERATE Lie.

These actions are nothing but FRAUD

Perhaps what is needed is a documented check list that can be readily accessed so intending buyers can be aware of those accounts that are known to offer FAKE items that are passed off as REAL.

Perhaps in this manner, people's hard earned money will not be scammed by CRIMINALS who have No integrity or Morals and are beneath contempt

FRAUD is a CRIMINAL Act and needs to be dealt with on a GLOBAL Scale.

No, most shame sites end up being misused with innocent members inadvertently being effected.

The only type of blacklists that work are usually within clubs or associations.

Meaning you become a member of a group that may warn of unscrupulous dealers.

Buying on eBay, members need to realize it is an enormous site and prone to abuse.

I suggest only purchase from larger older coin dealers on eBay preferably the ones that are members of ANDA or IBNS.

Sellers that are members of larger reputable associations will usually be credible.

Why on earth would you expect a seller to admit to selling fake anything?   If they are dishonest enough to sell fakes in the first place they are certainly not going to tell you so....they want you to buy their fakes, not turn you off buying them.

Very good advice. When dealing with auctions / BIN for second hand goods, particularly antiques and collectables, eBay is like any other market situation  –  Buyer Beware. And even more importantly “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”  The same thing has been happening in the jewellery categories for many years; items advertised as “gold” being “gold plate”; the same with silver. We cannot be our brother’s keeper – there is ample opportunity for buyers to check Feedback if they are uncertain, or to apply to eBay / PayPal for return / refund if they are unhappy with the quality of the goods they receive. If a seller will not answer a question about an item, that presents as a very good reason to avoid them.  Likewise if they tell a deliberate LIE the buyer has money back recourse. The bottom line when talking about jewellery and other precious collectables is that VERY often the buyer does not know / care; they are buying “THE LOOK”. I imagine those who buy collectable coins think they are investing for the future and feel they are buying a “bargain” when their collectable coin costs so much less than other “similar” ones. There are very good reasons to buy from long-established reputable dealers who have a physical presence here in Oz.

Sadly as already indicated “shaming” sites often degenerate into trying to gain a business advantage; the same thing occurs here on eBay with a seller deliberately buying a competitor’s product and leaving damning Feedback. Most of the coin people who used to contribute here have gone elsewhere for the very reasons you are raising; if you look you can probably find them elsewhere on social media platforms.

Of course sellers of fraudulent items will undercut the sales of those who are selling the real thing. All reputable sellers can do is to conduct our own transactions as honestly as possible (and sleep soundly in our beds at night.)

No one has the right to say who to or not to buy off, fake, not fake, cheaper or expensive.

Smaller sellers have as much credibilty as the older or larger dealers. Woman Tongue

I buy and sell coins and have come across alot of fake coins being sold as real.

I have reported those sellers to ebay plenty of times and I don't know if ebay ever did anything about it

as it's at their discretion.

But all buyers need to steer away from those sellers.

Make sure you investigate what the real deal is or isn't.

Learn about the coin you're about to buy before you buy it.

And if you do buy silver coins and you're not too sure if you have bought a fake then the simplest way to

find out is by placing an ice cube onto it and if the ice melts immediately then it's pure silver,if it doesn't then

you have a fake coin.

Ebay won't ban any sellers that sell fakes without proof.
