Ive had my LAST flu vax

Never again will I have a flu vaccine.  If I end up getting the flu sometime in the future my tough luck.  Had this years Quadri something whatever Tues 11th and my arm is still really really aching like almost to the bone.  3 to 4 hours after I had it I could hardly lift my arm for the pain.  The pain slowly subsided after about 4 days but just when I think its finally going I have another bad day with it.  Anyone else had this?  Ive never had it before with any flu vax. Interestingly the needle was inserted very high on the arm only about 3 cms below the shoulder.  Never had a vax that high up before.   Granted the pain will go in its own sweet time but can someone who has experienced this too give me an idea of some timeframe I'm looking at ?

Old people die;  some die day after the flu shot some die few weeks later.  That does not mean the flu vax killed them.  Some also died after cat ran across the road in front of them...........

It is exactly for sake of people like you that everybody who can gets the flu shots; that means that you will have less chance coming across somebody with flu, which could be disastrous for you.

Ive had my LAST flu vax

I've never had a Fluvax and don't intend to.

My sister has one every year and is always sick afterward, sometimes for weeks. Same my neighbour.

I've never had the 'Flu and rarely even catch a cold.

If I do, I let my own immune system deal with it.

But that's just me, and I understand everyone is different.

My doctor always asks if I'm feeling completely well, before he will give me the shot.

He says, if you're starting to come down with something, then

the flu jab will make you wish you were dead.

Seems there may be something in that

It's a bit off topic but a while back I was reading about research that seemed to show that people who caught a lot of colds were a lot less likely to get certain types of cancer. (I forget what types). They couldn't really explain why there was a correlation but they wondered if it was the fact the person's immune system was put on alert so often it did a sweep of their system somehow and nipped some other problems in the bud.

I've no idea how true or otherwise all that was, but it's interesting, I thought. I suspect if we can keep ourselves reasonably healthy most of the time, then our immune systems can cope with a lot.

Ive had my LAST flu vax

17yrs ago, a lung specialist told me to never have a flu vaccination, so I hanen't .  (I have permanent (L)  lung damage from radiaotherapy for breast cancer.... still better than the alternative though)

I rarely get sick, thank goodness.

If you've always had the flu shot, best to not quit due to one bad reaction, however, you really should go and see your doctor or a clinic nurse about your arm and reaction at the injection site.

Stay healthy  Smiley Happy
