Politicians to get pay rise

Our esteemed alleged politicians are to get a hefty pay rise based on their performance (official joke I am sure). Australian taxpayers need have no worries about forking out for these creatures because the Chinese will pick up the tab.

Federal MPs to get pay rises and tax cuts in July 1 bonanza

Federal politicians are set for a July 1 cash bonanza, with every MP in Parliament to receive thousands of extra dollars in pay, and a cut to their tax rate.

Political donations highlight growing concerns over Chinese influence in Australia

FOR years now, Australia has enjoyed the financial benefits of its relationship with China.

But as China’s power grows, there are increasing concerns about its growing interest in Australia’s land, infrastructure and politics.

Recent controversy over Chinese money being used to pay the bills of Labor Senator Sam Dastyari has focused attention on what China might be expecting in return.

It was Sam who was upset with Trump's ban on certain people visiting the USA. Sam is still an Iranian citizen and the Trump ban had Sam in tears. Surely Sam has Beijing on his places to visit rather than Iowa or LA.

Sam is welcome to moor his yacht in Andrew 'Ping Pong' Robb's harbour if he ventures up to Darwin.

It seems like these greedy pollies actually asked for their pay rise in submissions to the renumeration tribunal.

"The remuneration tribunal said on Thursday it had made a determination to boost remuneration by 2% for public offices in its jurisdiction with effect from 1 July 2017. The ruling, which will be controversial during a time of low wages growth, follows a 2.4% increase granted in July 2013 and a further 2% in January 2016.

. . .  it pointed to “a notable increase in submissions" to the tribunal seeking higher remuneration for offices and individual office holders based at least in part on private sector remuneration” over the past 12 months."

And still they're not satisfied. I'd be interested to know just which of our pollies are responsible for the "notable increase in submissions to the tribunal seeking higher remuneration".
