i did bid on a lawn mover but what what ever i bid there was always a bid of $2.50 more i done this now 4 times and is allways the same person hue bid the $2.50 more he can do it 1 or2 times, so i send a email to the seller Why can't i buy one mover at the auction and he told me i can only buy if i pay the listed price, i think he bid on his mover him self, i does not metter to me , but can a seller bid on his own item to push the price up thank you

No, the seller cannot bid on his own items.
What you have come across is the ebay automatic bidding system. A potential buyer has already entered a bid that is much higher than the amounts that you are bidding. You will continue to be outbid by the same member until your bid is higher than his.
