Logging in does not recognise my user name which i have had for years.Tried changing password that didn't work either.

I imagine you'll need to phone eBay and get them to sort the problem out, none of the volunteer members here will be able to help you on this one.
I presume you've tried a different browser and cleared cache and cookies.
