I bought a guitar from US with eBays new international shipping program with pitney bowes, and my tracking log goes like this. It sa shipped from US shipping center to international destination (which would be Sydney, Australia). But now it says in transit with destination carrier, in Memphis, TN? How did it get back to America?

It is simple as can be if one understands LOGISTICS.
This is a new great Ebay initiative where in the seller ships the package to Erlanger in Kentucky and then they send it to their domestic partners and then finally to FedEx.
One should worry about the final destination and not the numerous destinations it goes through before the item reaches us.
I bought SEVERAL items on Ebay and always note that once it arrives in Erlanger Kentucky it goes to either Memphis, Indianapolis, Ohio and then to Anchorage/Alaska and then Shanghai, then Singapore and then Australia. It also goes to Hong Kong and Japan sometimes as FedEx ships it out on the next flight to whichever country that is closer to Australia.
So it only makes sense to see the next destination when we track our package and not the final destination.
So when one sees Memphis, Indianapolis or Alaska, China, Japan, Hong Kong. No need to start worrying it just means it is on its way to the nearest and quickest way possible to reach Australia.
Thanks to EBay cos with USPS it would take 2-3 weeks but now it is mostly 10-14 business days. I am VERY happy cos FedEx is a trustworthy Courier service and glad Ebay's shipping program Pitney Bowes partnered with FedEx.
God bless us all. Hope this information helps.
