Why does wndirect hand over to auspost without a tracking number.

I am tracking a parcel fro the UK to Australia by the Global Shipping Program. The tracking number displayed on the EBay site is fine until the parcel arrived in Brisbane customs. At this point the parcel is handed over to Australia Post but they tell me the tracking number I have been using is not valid even though wndirect.com.au transfers me into Australia Post.
Why is this tracking number suddenly now not valid?
Can some please advise?

There is often a tracking number for the item to arrive to the GSP distribution centre for it to be repacked and despatched with a new tracking number from the carrier the GSP is using for your parcel.
Someone here may be able to say which carrier the UK GSP most uses so perhaps you can contact them to get the new tracking number.
