Why does wndirect hand over to auspost without a tracking number.

I am tracking a parcel fro the UK to Australia by the Global Shipping Program. The tracking number displayed on the EBay site is fine until the parcel arrived in Brisbane customs. At this point the parcel is handed over to Australia Post but they tell me the tracking number I have been using is not valid even though wndirect.com.au transfers me into Australia Post.
Why is this tracking number suddenly now not valid?
Can some please advise?

Usually once the item arrives in Australia you will receive a notification that it has been released to whatever carrier will deliver it in Australia. There is usually a clickable link.
If you were told it was being handed to Australia Post try clicking on everything you can find in the way of numbers, words etc to see if it opens another window.
It is often a few days between it arriving in Customs before it becomes trackable in Australia.
