Can a buyer pay a deposit to hold the item

I have some tiles listed - quite a few worth over $1,000. They have been listed as a buy it now with a best offer. I have just had a good offer that I would be happy to accept however they don't want them till beginning of Jan (over 1 month away).they are willing to pay a 10% deposit for me to hold them. How can I go about that ?

An arrangement like this would be between you and the buyer, nothing to do with ebay. Ebay do not have an option for paying deposits or layby situations.
