Does anyone know if i can refund part of the postage cost on Paypal without paying paypal fees?

The post office let my parcel go into a lower weight category than I expected, so i want to refund the customer the difference between quoted and actual postage price. Is there a way to do this without getting charged paypal fees, (or is it legal to say the amount is for a gift)? Otherwise i will take a little off the refund to allow for fees on the refund transaction.
Thanks in advance for any help. Tanja

Yes, its easy - just go into your Paypal account go to where all the transactions are listed and on the appropriate one where your order sits you will see a little box called refund. Just click on that then put the amount in the box that you want to refund. Remember just the refund amount. You dont get charged a fee by Paypal for this. , in fact what happens is you will get a small credit for the refund off your ebay FVF and the Paypal commission. You will probably also get a thank you from your buyer.. if you're lucky.
