paypal balance over $1000 BEWARE!!

I am furious!!!  I had a couple of high payments from ebay sales which put my paypal account balance over $1000 and paypal limited my account.  I had no idea that they could or would do this.  How dare they, this is MY money.  I have been using paypal for years and never had this problem before.  

I can receive money but can't pay or withdraw, surpise, surprise.  How is this legal?

BEWARE!!!!  If your balance is going to reach $1000, withdraw.

I am guessing they have asked you to provide identification in order to have the limitation lifted? If so they are required by Australian anti money laundering/counter terrorism law once your balance exceeds $1000. I'm no huge Paypal fan myself but they have to do so, they would be breaking the law if they didn't.
