Cheers for the advice

Dispute opened was for item not delivered,Iwill open another dispute for item not as described although i feel it will be fruitless. The seller requested cash transfer as way of payment and being new to online shopping i realised after the fact that ebay does not offer protection in such transactions, valuable lesson learnt, only to use paypal i guess, too late now. What is concerning to me is that you are forced to rely on sellers honesty to do the right thing otherwise you have no guarantee of things going smoothly.I am now out of pockket 300 bucks and as a pensioner that really hurts.I very much doubt i will shop like this ever again, why do people feel  the need to be **bleep**holes to others to enrich their worthless lives.

Oh dear.....don't waste your time opening another dispute.   You have no ebay or paypal protection when you pay with bank deposit.

I am sorry this has happened to you but you can hardly blame ebay or paypal.  Had you paid with paypal you would definitely have had your money back.  Unfortunately you were a sitting duck for an unscrupulous seller.....as soon as a seller asks for bank deposit it should ring warning bells for more experienced buyers who would never pay that way, especialy for an expensive item.  There is no way you are forced to rely on any seller's honesty if you use the ebay and paypal tools which provide full buyer protection.

What was the item if you don't mind me asking? And was it from a private or business seller?

There is one other thing you might try....if the seller was a registered Australian Business you might try Fair Trading in your state. A   report to ACORN (Federal Govt site) might yield a result also.  Just the threat of reporting him to the authorities for fraud might "persuade" him to do the right thing.
