How long is a reasonable time to allow the purchaser to return an item

A buyer requests a return claiming an item is faulty. Buyer refuses to confirm he has followed instructions on how to use device correctly. A return is authorised to allow inspection by seller on whether or not the item is faulty and also to confirm no damage has been done to the item. Since then nothing and the buyer has not returned the item. Does ebay have time llimits on this sort of thing please
