My buyer arranged purchase through messages and didn't mark it 'sold' online. Can I do it?

How can I mark something 'sold' if my buyer paid cash and picked up before I realised he had to mark it as sold online. I haven't done this for a couple of years and forgot how it works. So it's still marked as active and I am getting offers I don't need! I have messaged him and asked him to do it but no response today. I have to apologise and tell bvuyers it's sold but I can't seem to update it from the seller listing. Help!!

Normally the buyer would purchase it first then pick up and pay.

If the buyer is not responding to your requests of selecting to buy then just end the listing.

To the right of the item in your selling list is a small drop down menu, select end item.

I'd get a friend to buy it, then send them an invoice with zero postage and then mark it as paid.  That'll stop you getting into trouble with ebay as you most likely will if you end the item yourself.  Ebay seem to be checking messages on items you end early and the buyer would have had to message you in order to get your details to come and look at it.

Noy sure I fully follow (sorry)

If your item was listed for sale on ebay, and the buyer was either the highest bidder and won the auction or it was a buy it now and sold that way, it would be automatically ended and no longer listed and then when they paid cash, you as the seller would be marking it as paid if they paid cash on pick up

I am not sure how you arrange purchase through messages on ebay otherwise
