How long am I supposed to allow the buyer to pay for item? Is there a rule as to how quickly to pay?

How much time am I supposed to allow the buyer to pay for item? Is there a rule as to how quickly they are to pay?

No rule as such.
But ebays unpaid item process allows 4 days before a case can be opened and 4 days before it can be closed.
In effect that gives a buyer 8 days minimum.
The buyer gets an automated reminder at 48 hours and if I haven't heard from them at 4-5 days, I send a message asking if there is a problem with making payment.
If no response in a day or so, I open a case. That can spur a payment.
If not I close the case 4 days later.
Buyer gets a strike, I get the fee back and can relist.
I also add the buyer to my Blocked Bidders List.
