What can I do about plants I sold that were very delayed by public holidays and died before delivery

I sell plants and posted some plants 4 days before Good Friday through Australia Post. It is now 2 days after Easter and some have still not been delivered. One lot of plants was rotten when they were delivered yesterday and I expect there will be more.  Apart from replacing the plants for the buyer is there any sort of seller protection etc that will compensate me for the loss? I don't have any problems when there are no public holidays.

The only protection you might have would be through Australia Post if you used Express Post and the items were not delivered within the stipulated time.

At this time of the year you need to be very aware of all the public holidays....there is another one next week for Anzac Day.
