Ebay New Variations for Listings How Does it Work??

I have listed titems with variations previous to the new Listing format.

I know i had to start a New Listing and then add variations Size COlour etc

I was frustrated with the old way as you could not add a variation to an existing listing... had to start again add photos etc etc

On the new Ebay Template when relisting..it does state Variations!!

I tried tonight to add a variation to an existing listing to no avail!!

Then tried using Sell Similar, then adding variation details.

On both.. a message came up saying Error and something about unable to add variation details to this listing??

the items I am selling are Clothing

Can somebody please let me know if you have been able to add a variation to an existing single listing, or how to add variations to a New Listing

Please help!

Today is freaky friday. eBay maintenance so all sorts of strange things happen.

Most of our products also have size & colour variations.

We have found the variation management function offered by ebay to be severly limited.

Like you we have found that once a variation listing is established then the only way you can add/remove new variations is to cancel (end) the listing and start all over.

We are using Selling Manager Pro. One thing we have found with that is that we get marginally less errors if we remove the SMPro Inventory items for the listing. It seems that, for whatever reason, if the active listing diverges from the Inventory listing this introduces errors in itself. In some cases we are prevented from altering variation quantities (bad for stock control) and once we delete the SMP Inventory item this error is removed.

We have our own website and variation management on there is such a breeze by comparison. We used to have a Shopify site and their variation management was magical with lots of drag & drop and filtering functions.

I thought I was doing something wrong and still don;t understand why the Option for Variations is on the edit page...yet it cannot be used on a current listing.

thanks for the info re Selling Manager will try that one and see how I go.

It is so frustrating as the Variations I am trying to add eg: Size Colour etc is on a listing that already has a good sales history.

Therefore do not want to end this listing and start again!
