With the introduction of free post for buyers, then am I correct in assuming that sellers will now be able to claim these charges as deductions? Any accountants out ther can verify and offer some advice? Thanks

Postage costs have always been tax deductible whether or not it is included in the price or listed separately.

If you charge postage separately that is considered income and needs to be declared. You then claim your actual postage costs as an expense.

yep, keep your receipts for the postage amount. They are a business expense (as is any other kind of delivery method) and the fees accrued are an operating expense, so also tax deductable.

don't forget the GST component on the postage either
