What has happened to ebay? No sales it is frightening .Anyone else ??????

I went to the local market last sunday and was looking at a stall holders items, another person walked up to me and quietly whispered "don't buy anything off this stall holder-he is one of those scumbags that sells on ebay"- i said have you had a bad experience with this seller and he said "people who use ebay are scumbags just like ebay-dirty foreign company stealing aussie money" and off he went, funny thing is i heard a lady say to her partner "ebay-yuk, jimmy don't even look at this stall"-she must have heard what was being said.

The other day i got a survey from ebay and one of the questions was what other sites do you sell on-etsy and quicksales were some of the choices as wel as grays.  I didn't think ebay even cared about such sites-maybe they are also feeling the pressure.  I think buyers and sellers are now looking at other sites-a game collector said to me that they don't even look at ebay because it is too expensive and overpriced.

I wish ebay hadn't ruined the good thing ebay was years ago.

its simple you pay for what you get .

if you had a store in a small country town against a shop in the middlle of chadstone shopping centre    were would you sell from

but if you want the shop in chadstone it will cost you a hell of a lot more in rent ,

thats why if you go to any site check how many for instance dvd s they have to sell and compare it to ebay   ,

the more traffic 1 site gets  the more it cost to sell there   thats on the internet and also in stores

Using your analogy it seem like we are paying the Chadstone rent, but we are stuck in a small room behind Target with no signs.

I have been travelling along really well with sales since December, until last Friday.  I have had no sales which are unheard of.  I havenโ€™t even had offers, with approx. 500 items listed.  I checked my traffic, and I am ยพ down.

Itโ€™s funny though, my other ebay account, which is not a shop, has had 7 items sold since Friday.  For a month, I sold no items on this account, and then boom.

What the hell is ebay playing at!

It is looking grim, and I hope my sales pick up with everyone elseโ€™s.

Hi knewdoors - I didn't put a lot of credence on the idea that Ebay were "Throttling" at first, but as I said, the number of ex Employees who have now turned Whistle Blowers is just getting to the point that I believe we can no longer dismiss it.

As I understand it, "Throttling" is the term given to placing invisible Seller Limits on each & every one of us. Ebay is able to turn our visability on & off at will & even control where our Listing are seen - e.g. I've noticed with my own Sales that I'll get a run of Buyers from Qld, NSW & Sth Aust. for a while & then it will swap over to the other States. Then maybe a week or so of virtually nothing.

I was putting this down to coincidence for a while but it has just gone on too long now. Also, a lot of Regulars have contacted me asking where all of my Listings are because they can't find them at certain times.

If we go & look ourselves though we will ALWAYS find them. The Whistle Blowers say that it is very easy to control this as Ebay has our Computer IPN's.

WHY are they doing this?  To direct our Business toward the BIG Accounts that they are trying to get into bed with.

IS IT ILLEGAL? - I'm not a Lawyer but I'm guessing it is. Would be Price Fixing & Anti Competition corruption at its worst.

If the ACCC & other G'ment Depts know about it then they're certainly not doing anything about it.

This is just not being reported here in Australia, but the O/S Press is full of stories, particularly in the USA.

Really Joe!

I have never been rude to a forum member, even when I disagree with their response, as they are very knowledgeable in ebay rules and regulations and I get to see someone elseโ€™s perspective

You are clearly not,  and just like the sound  of your own voice

The question was?

No sales it is frightening, anyone else?

I have not had the these issues until last Friday.  Read between the lines!
