I can't remove the shopping cart item number even when there's nothing in the cart

Hello, I have made and paid for an item that was put into the shopping cart but it still inticates that I have

one item in the cart.  When I click onto the cart it goes away and tells me I have nothing in the cart but a

short while later or when I revisit ebay it returns.  I have tried to find an answer to correct the problem but

I can't for the life of me see how to do it - any suggestions please  regards gbees402

If it's just the number next to the cart, ignore it. The same with the bell. They both show info inconsistently.

As long as you click on the cart and nothing appears so it can be used again.
