EBAY Sellers be careful with buyers luring you to send postage charges COD
Feb 9, 2012 03:08 PM

Got caught on this one with a fellow from australia who refuses to collect the item and pay the COD postage charges which we both agreed upon.

Throughout the entire sale this fellow has avoided any contact with me period, which 3 weeks later was followed up by nasty NEGATIVE comments suggesting I had not sent the goods and never replied to any of his emails (Yeah we have all heard that one before havent we sellers?)

You would think if this fellow had any sort of decency or guts he would have faced up to his obligation by telling me the postage was either too expensive or he had a change of heart or he was unable to pay.

But instead he fabricates un true un founded accusations against me to side step his own obligation.

Of course ebay arn't stupid when it comes to all this, how many times must they been down this path with disputes before. Thats why I hoping the ebay arbitration desision will be based on evidence and commonsence in there resolve

DO NOT reply to their feedback.  File an Unpaid Item Claim immediately and then close it when 4 days have passed.  Then, ask eBay to remove the feedback that was left by a non-paying buyer.  DO NOT leave them any feedback as you can only leave +ve anyway.  Doing the UPI will help all sellers who have blocks in place for non-paying buyers.

COD stands for Cash On Delivery and is an Australian post delivery service.

Cash On Pick-up should be stated in any transaction that allows pick-up.

Some sellers do list with COD thinking that it's Cash On Pick-up,but it's not.

If you have a concern as to what they mean just go to the item you have bid on and scroll to the bottom.

Then ask the seller a question as to what they mean by COD.

If the answer is not suitable you can either retract the bid or if it has less then 12 hours to go ask the seller to retract the bid.

Hope you have a happy, healthy and prosperous life and may all your dreams come true, Corny..

What thread are you reading patchoo?

Tazz is the only poster to give the correct answer re COD being an AP service.

Is there another thread by the OP with more information?

how many times must they been down this path with disputes before.

Not many I should think as most people would never use COD for anything other than a personal parcel being sent to a friend or relative who you know is going to pay up and collect it.

Apart from the obvious problem you have encountered COD has no on-line tracking so is not a good idea for commercial transactions anyway.

At least you will get the item back, at a cost of course, so will be able to re-sell it and as the buyer has no proof of payment you can go through the unpaid item dispute and get your FVF back.
