Recipes?

We had potatoes cooked with cheese and cream tonight.

I peeled and sliced potatoes ... added them to a large casserole dish. Added sliced onion after a layer or so of potatoes, then added sliced cheese (too lazy to grate more than I had) ... then added cream. Put in more potatoes, more onions, more cream, and topped it all off with grated cheese. I would have used about a kilo of spuds, 300 g of cheese, two small onions, and 500 ml of cream.

I love almost all cheeses ... from cheddar to brie, from camembert to stilton, from red Leicester to blue cheese, from fetta to haloumi, I recently tried provolone ... that was nice ...

BUT ... not over processed cheeses ... no sliced cheese ... I have been known, on rare visits to McD's to request a cheeseburger without the cheese ... (possibly just to be difficult). No parmesan cheese that is already grated (I prefer it sliced by myself just before use).

I love Boursin ... but I discovered recently that you could buy a cheap cream cheese and add garlic and chives and process it in a blender to get something very similar.

A piece of fruitcake with a slice of good cheddar on top makes a lovely snack - especially when accompanied by an equally good merlot.

Jarlsberg on ryvitas with sliced tomato is pretty much my daily breakfast. Can't help it.

For a cheese board I love Camembert and blue cheese. I love that recipe, Katy. I do similar but I use chicken stock instead of cream.

I agree. I make a loaf that is full of drird figs, apricots, cranberries and almonds which is nice but as soon as you add a piece of camabert or a soft blue cheese on top it becomes delicious. It must be the fruit and cheese combination that does it.
