... as to what taxpayers are paying out to parliamentarians who are no longer in parliament.

They get a parliamentary pension for life and I understand , a gold pass for free travel.

Here is some info in here for you.

In NSW it costs tax payers about 1.3million per year. NSW is the state with the most benefits for ex politicians so other states would be lower.

And in NSW Barry O'Farrell introduced a bill that said you couldn't recieve any benefits if you didn't hold office for 4 years or more. It effectively stripped Christina Keneally of recieving ANY entitlements.

But he decided that Liberal politicians were immune to this. So people like Greiner continue to recieve their benefits despite being paid big bucks in high profile corporate jobs whilst Keneally is still doing charitable works on behalf of the government and paying her expenses ot of her own pocket.

This might be of help to you regarding former PM's entitlements

The former PMs also have their home phone and mobile bills paid by taxpayers, as well as unlimited allowances for publications, a car and air fares for them and their spouses - in addition to their pensions.

Under the generous former parliamentary superannuation scheme, each retired former PM receives a pension indexed to current MPs salaries for life.

Each former retired PM receives about 70 per cent of the incumbent's salary, unless they take a lump sum on retirement.

although this, from the same article, probably wasn't what you were after

John Howard's office is the most expensive, averaging $850,000 a year over the last term of government, an investigation by the Sunday Herald Sun has found.

Mr Howard's office expenses were almost double the average of the other four former prime ministers no longer in Parliament [....]

The other former PMs are Gough Whitlam (1972-75), Malcolm Fraser (1975-83), Bob Hawke (1983-91), Paul Keating (1991-96) and Mr Howard (1996-2007).

Mr Keating's office is the most frugal.

There was more to it than that but don't let the facts get in the way of your defence of all things Labor.

Keneally didn't deserve anything after what she & her criminal cronies did to NSW. She should be held to account for her complicity along with Joe Tropodi. Obead, her other backer is already in the dock.

The stench of NSW Labor goes to the heart of what is wrong with the whole National Union/Labor movement. Even the union boss Tony Sheldon says it, so it's bad, starting to eat their own now, rats starting to desert the rotting hulk of Labor.
