Ignore function....

I want it back... and when I put someone on ignore I want it to also put me on their ignore list...

I agree with wanting the option of having the ignore feature to ignore posters and their posts back as it was on

CS before the recent changes.

I don't think the other option of the ignored not being able to read the ignorers posts would be suitable on a public forum.

Wouldn't that make a sort of not real community? If you only want to communicate with people who think like you/agree with you? bearing in mind it is a public forum and anyone and everyone is free to post here.

nice idea, apparently lithium never had that feature on any of their froums, only for the PM system

(but, i never saw the need for a ignore button myself)

Yep, I ignored the ignore feature anyway. I'd rather read whatever I choose to read and ignore what I choose to ignore. Don't need a button for that.

It would get rather boring if we could stop everyone who disagrees with our opinions from being able to read everyones posts.

yeah not such a nice idea after all

fair enough if you want to ignore someone (if that ignore feature still existed

but, to prevent that member from reading your posts too is going a little overboard

they should have every right to read your posts, it should be up to them if they want to ignore too

(hypothetically)

The ignore button was a must for me. I have that disease where you just can't seem to help responding to fools in the way they are likely to understand - and that of course usually ended up in a resounding slap.

Now I have to be so very careful and keep so much inside it is becoming detrimental to my mental state.

Exactly.....

it seems the older I get the more likely I am to tell someone where to go in language that a lot of people don't like...

and the reason I want to be able to block people from reading my posts is because I don't feel they are worthy of reading my wonderful posts...

I think it would cause major issues if we could block people from seeing posts.

It would be intimidating and excluding. It would be easy for little groups to each block a member for the sake of teasing, mocking and causing grief to that person.

I find the older I get the easier it is not to use offensive language at them when telling them where to go

There is an ignore funcion..

Just click on the person's name and to the right is the option to ignore someoe.. It's under Contact

nope.. tried that .. and was informed that it just stops that person from sending you a PM apparently...

just tried to ignore Joz... no luck...

I think that only blocks PM's though patch.

Mind you I have noticed that my pet trolls are not around any more so it seems the ignore button is not as important to me at the moment............

still no doubt there will come a time, they are a bit like flies, you kill one off and twenty come to it's funeral.

I have actually enjoyed posting here since the new boards are up... and I only used the ignore function twice on the old boards... it was a nice respite from reading some rambling posts.....

I think that things are finally changing and people are having to think twice before they post something.

I have had one post removed... totally agree with the decision... and I am getting use to the format of the board...so that is going well too...

Yes, I don't mind it either. It just takes a day or two to get used to.

Have the gliches with the group facilitators been solved?

you can flick it back on if you wish ->, as i hardly use the PM system anyway lol

i am liking this new system now too, just a simple matter of adapting to it

the hover over feature would be a nice addition which they are considering

(being the worst smiley collection on the internet i dont really care about)

be handy if they introduced an ebay icon to indicate a mod replied to a thread, always interested to read what they got to say

I only used the ignore function, just a little towards the end of the old board, but it sort of trained me to keep away from where I don't really want to be, if that makes any sense

I'm also getting used to the new boards, but don't like the smilies

Ohh I didn't know that... I did try and use the ignore function on the old boards, but my curiosity got the better of me...

Now if I don't like what someone says, I scroll past or don't open the thread....

Underneath your name it says Community Member, underneath a mods it will say Moderator so that's how you know
