Horrible conditions, perfect for out of control bush fires. We are at the beginning of a heat wave with it being 40 degrees at the moment. I love the heat -as long as I have somewhere cooler to escape to - but the wind is of concern, especially after the Black Saturday fires.

I have numerous containers filled with water dotted around the yards. The animals are all flaked out underneath the ceiling fans. I'll check outside later to make sure that no wild life as succumbed to the heat.

I have been watching Australian Open. Don't know how the players can handle it. Just saw an interview with Roger, he didn't seem bothered by it at all. There are 15 matches in progress atm, I wonder how the girls are coping.

yes the wind is a concern, we now have some heavy rain I just hope its dumping on the fires.

We had dozens of birds sheltering in the shade of the shed this morning and I topped up a bird bath for the first time in years, the wind was from the north and so hot
