Cat pee

One of my cats has peed somewhere but I can't locate where the smell is coming from.

Expecting visitors tomorrow and I'd rather the house didn't smell so feral. Any suggestions on how to minimise the smell?

Vinegar, but you'd need to find where the smell is coming from. If you try and mask it with deodorisers it will just mix and smell worse.

get on your hands and knees and start sniffing... only way otherwise your house will smell like the crazy cat lady's house...

I had a cat pee on a bag once, for the life of us we could not find it for weeks. sent me crazy as I did not know if it was just in my head.

you might be able to hide it with something strong like clove oil in a pot of water on the stove... let it simmer and infuse the air.

My vet tells me vodka for dog pee, definitely nothing with ammonia, dont know about cat's pee though - is it a mad cat?

Oh just re read the post, how to locate the smell, well if it is a mad cat try sniffing around where you would least expect it to be.

NIl odor, you can buy it at the supermarket, only need a drop.

Vinegar

Bi carb soda on it, leave overnight, then vacuum.

Or go to pet shop buy as bottle of what they have for the problem

Hi,

You will need a 'black light' to look for where the pee is and you can only see it when it is dark. Vinegar is a good solution but it doesn't always work. Definately nothing with amonia in it as it will attract the cat to it again.

You might need to get your cat checked at the vets because if this is the first time this has happened, the cat may have an infection.

I had a cat that peed everywhere to the extent we pulled up the carpet and got a great shock at all the wet spots. Also stress can make them pee randomly.

I found it! Bloody cat peed on the laundry basket - made of woven material with a lid - so that is now outside [no garden party, Skwerl.lol] The towels in the basket don't smell so I might be able to get away with just getting rid of the lid. I washed the laundry floor just in case. Yesterday, the same cat left something smelly on the laundry floor. They eat, sleep and toilet in the laundry. There have been no changes in their diet,type of litter or anything. Yet. Another cat will be coming here tomorrow - the full sister of my other cat. Perhaps my cat is psychic.

She has been reminded that the saying about cats having 9 lives is not true

LOL. If vodka is for dog pee, what do I get to drink for cat pee?

My cats are due for their shots so I'll get the vet to check.

So, I had a glass of Bailey's and put it on the coffee table. I went back to what I was doing then looked up and saw the other cat dipping her paw into the glass then licking it. Yes, Skwerl, that was Willow. Must be Naughty Cat Day.

hahahahahah well it sounds like Ashka might be mad at Willow because of Willow's drinking problem, $200 voucher for marriage counselling might be the go.
