I didn't let my children read it in primary school, it was horrific.

Yes I have read it and it is Primary School reading material.

I just didn't allow it at the time.

Yeah, I didn't agree to it at the time because of that, I was just curious as to why poddy said this:

The Diary of Anne Frank was great too and best of all it was real life

I didn't let my kids see Harry Potter either when they were little, it was far too scary.

My kids could never sit through Wizard of Oz. My little daughter used to run screaming to bed as soon as the first witch came on. She loves horror movies now lol.

Best of all because someone documented their life at the time and handed it down so that others may have an tiny inkling of what was happening.

My Mr12 has seen all Harry Potters, is reading book 5 ATM, watches some M rated movies, but will NOT, to the point of running from the room like Icy's daughter, will not watch Gremlins. Hubs and I, being children in the 80s thought we'd share our penchant for cheesey 80s movies, but he dead set refuses to watch it. From the first momen thy eat after midnight, he's out of there. LOL

BTW, Bridget Jones is a cr ap!
