What do you collect?

Looking around the house, I have decided I need a bloody good clean out!!!!

I collect books and Star Wars

Hubbs collects cars (of which I am guilty of also)

Daughter collects LOTR weta

And dont get me started on my clothes cupboard.....big cleanout this weekend methinks... time to live simpler

Someone once told me that if you have 3 of something, then you are

a collector. I am in deep doodoo

I used to collect porcelaine cats, all kinds of kewpies, lady-head vases,

carnival glass.... and the list goes on and on and on

They're all here..... somewhere

I used to collect miniature jugs, Teddies, Australian pottery and glass dishes. Had to downsize when I moved into a much smaller place, and now only collect honest and loyal friends. They never take up to much room when sitting down to share a cuppa and a chat.

Oh my, I just realised I too have to clean out my wardrobes. Clothes I bought 50 years ago are still to good to throw in the bin, but seeing that I have not worn them for years, may as well give them to a Charity Shop.

I do scrapbooking, so I collect everything that goes with it, I have so much paper and boxes and boxes of stams, wooden elements, glue, you name it, everything to do with scrapping I have.

Hubby just built me two more shelves in the scrap room for all my stuff...........I could open a shop, with what I have here and it would be fully stocked.

Other than that, nothing.........

Hubby on the other hand has books, books, books and books, today he found a huge carton down stairs full of books, so he is going through them as I speak.....

Hubby also collects little bits of stuff with the reasoning that it will come in handy one day...............not in our life time it wont.!

I find it extremely hard to get rid of books...but that is where I am going to start.

Yes, well good luck with the books.

I asked hubby where did he think he was going to put his latest box he found, he said he would take them to the op shop AFTER he looks to see if he needs them, they go back over 40yrs he tells me, have no idea what is in them, just stories I think. No good keeping them, as he rarely reeds these days.

Some books can be sold on ebay, other people may be interested in them if they are in good condition.

I'm trying to get rid of some books...have taken heaps into charity bins, book exchange and friends but still have heaps......so why did I buy 3 more on Tues ??? hahaa

It is hard though and there are some books that I couldn't get rid of.

I need to cull my clothes and collections too ...

have a collection of old tools ,aus pottery ,jugs ,old iron ,china stuff!

Funny thing is I love looking at collections especially ornaments and the stories behind them but I really need a clean out as I am feeling uncomfortable in my own house
