Downloading books to Kindle

I have only recently discovered that I can borrow ebooks from the library. Does anyone do this and know how to get them onto a kindle?
I have only ever downloaded from amazon.

I could go into the library and ask them but thought I'd try here first.

I can tell you how to do it at Jackson County Public Library System, but that may not be of use to you in Oz.

Try this: go to your library website, and look for e-book instructions......you may have to download software to access the e-book site.

So you borrow and download to a kindle? I can see and understand ebooks ion my libraries website and could download them to my computer but can't work out how to download them to my kindle. I prefer that reading environment for books.

Here in WA you couldn't get any e books for a Kindle, only e-readers that supported e-pub files but I see that now they do have books for Kindle Fire and a number of other devices.

I don't have a kindle, I just download and drag and drop books onto my e reader.

They tell you to dowload a program called Overdrive which I did but never ever used it because I use a program called Adobe Digital Editions.

I've never actually checked an e-book out from the library..........We have a huge assortment of books on CD, and I prefer them. When I have to drive to Portland to the VA, I check out a book, load the first 6 CD's into the player, and listen while I drive. At home, I simply chuck the CD's into the blue-ray player, sit back, and listen. Matter of fact, I got a new Stuart Woods book today, "Cut and Thrust".
