I bought one for my hubby but he's still smoking

And it was Benson and Hedges flavour too. The flavour choices were bizarre lol, mango, jack daniels..

He used it for a few days, the convenience of being able to use it anywhere but now I think it is being banned in many places just like real smokes!

I don't see the point personally, pretending to smoke. You need to cut the habit and associations to succeed permanently.

You are jumping to conclusions. Who said I smoked and if I didw ho said I want to quit? LOL.....just want to find out from someone who does smoke if they have tried the electronic cigarettes and what they thought of them?

Both my sisters are doing whats called "vaping" some kind of electronic gadget and you have a tank that attaches with different flavored "juices". You can have different strengths of nicotine or no nicotine in them. One is quite coonvinced she will give up smoking, I'm not so sure, the other is skeptical but finding she is not enjoying the cigarettes she does have now and is starting to pick up the vapy thing more often.

I am sitting here and vaping on a electronic cigarette and enjoying it because I no longer have to stand outside in the cold and rain to have a smoke.

I have been smoking for 60 years. Giving up cold turkey is almost impossible for me. I don't have any health problems relating to smoking, but the price of cigarettes is not fitting my budget anymore, so cigs have to go. I am 78 years old, please don't tell me I should know better. When I started smoking, it was high fashion and "Light up a Viscount was whistlred by Tony Barber every day on TV.

Now, back to the question. I buy my supply of e-cigs from a fellow in Queensland. He is cheaper than a lot of others. Perfectly reliable and posts promptly. I can recomend him.

This is a startng kit. Any questions and he will answer by phone if you contact him. I have have two batteries, so one can charge while I use the other one, and I have four claromisers. Two to be used while I rinse the others clean so the liquid does not get the burned taste. By now I have cut down from 25 gigs a day to only three real ones. Hopefully by the end of the year I will be able to say "I am an ex-smoker."

I tried them + got the nicotine liquid refill + extra filters,from DealXtreme & was very cheap.Probably raised prices now & there was a hassle with import them for a while i think.

It's a great solution 'cos 1 thing that non smokers just don't get about smokers quitting is the ritual hand to mouth thing.Other quit options like patches don't cater to this.

One thing i found with the refills is that sometimes i did get a burst of nicotine fluid in the mouth that was quite unpleasant.Great also cos they recharge by USB but is best to have 2 of them.I would have kept going with that except the charging part broke & it took too long to order another cheap 1 from China.

If you want one for a smoker,i suggest not the fruit flavours but the cigarette brand ones or it may get thrown at you.There are a few different strength nicotine fluids so you can taper down in strength when ready.

I think the burst of nicotine you are talking about may have been a burst of burnt liquid. The cartomiser or clearomiser has to be washed on a regular basis every few days. YouTube has videos of how to take them apart, wash and reassemble.

Also a friend of mine who is on a diet has bought one and uses chocolate flavour to stop her cravings for the sweet stuff she is addicted to. I never thought why people would want the fruity and sweet flavours, but this made sense to me.

I never had any problems with this seller. (eureka_bob) The first time I ordered extra clearomisers, he rang me on the phone to ask what colour I wanted, as I had no colour specified.

There are lots of e-cigarettes awailable from the UK, USA and Ireland, but they are very expensive compared to what we can get in our own country.

And, yes, I tried patches. They made me smoke even more, and Nicorette chewing gum burned my mouth with a very unpleasant taste. I also went for 12 days cold turkey, but became very agitated and argumentative, until my hubby went out and bought me a pack of cigarettes. So far the e-cigs I am using have helped me reduce the cravings and cut down considerably. I don't even use the e-cigarette as much as I used to smoke real cigarettes.

People may argue for or against. It may not be suitable for every smoker, but it is helping me and my budget.

You'll find any of the ones sold in Australia are 0mg nicotine. Australian companies are not allowed to sell the nicotine ones to Australians.

I buy nicotine ones from a company in NZ and only use the prefilled cartomisers.

I must say though I like the taste of the 0mg nicotine ones.

thy hugely populr in UK, and seemed to be a fashion statement

over tanned over made up women in their 50's young men and teen girls looked utterly ridiculous walking down the high street en masse puffing on their vapo ciggy. they thought they looked cool, but they looked stupid

there no evidene to suggest these thinvs help you to quit. thst are also suspect in terms of the effects of long term use

I tried one when I was a smoker. I was like Erica and just wanted to cut down, not to give up. I bought mine from elusion. http://www.elusionvape.com/

They did help me cut down a little bit at first but basically there is nothing that reproduces having a real cigarette.

The cost of smoking was ridiculous and has got worse since I finally gave up. It took an aneurysm and brain surgery but I haven't smoked one since.

My sister in law was diagnosed with lung cancer at the beginning of this year. The cancer had already spread and she has died very recently. We thought we would have another Christmas with her. Incidentally, she gave up smoking too when she was diagnosed.

Giving up smoking is so depressing and horrible. I had a head start being pretty much out of it for nearly a week but it takes about 6 months to get out of depression, a year to feel pretty good and 2 years before you know that you will never do that to yourself again.

I actually argued with my dad to not quit when I had no choice because he was already 80.

If you've made it to 70's 80's then it's so sad that the taxes and duties have made it impossible for you and I feel bad about that.
