I dunno Jess. Do you really think that Miley Cyrus is a good role model for young girls/women? (Not that I would endorse using celebs etc as role models) but, she has lost alot of respect from people because of her public behaviour and concert performances etc. Her dad has been quoted as saying some really alarming things about his daughter. If she was my daughter.... I think I'd be ashamed... I know I'm being judgemental, but I'm not hating just commenting on simple observations 🙂

It depends which way you look at it. I don't admire a lot of the things she does, says, or believes - she even used to be a Christian, and that's definitely gone down the drain! I do, however, admire her transformation process to go from Hannah Montana to Miley. She knows how to make the world talk about her, but she's also being true to herself. If that's not reason enough to admire her, I don't know what is 🙂

The worlds only talking about her because she's trashed herself so badly though. Or allowed to let herself be trashed by her publicity agents. If that's what she calls being true to herself, ok, but I certainly don't find it admirable.

Miley Cyrus is not being true to herself. By the way she is behaving shows that she does not know who she is.

All she is doing is following the orders of her agent to keep in the spotlight and make more money from gullible followers.

There is no rolemodel and no self respect.

It's all money, money and more money, no matter at what cost.

Ok well I don't do much dancing since I got bad arthritis in the hip and had to have a replacement a few years ago

Do any of us know who we really are? It's a journey, not something that can be figured out after sitting down with an agent or publicity manager. Miley has grown up, and so have a lot of her fans. You obviously don't agree with my opinions and that's fine, I'm not trying to convert you to my way of thinking 🙂

I don't believe the aim of starting a thread should be to get a positive response. I think it's more about sharing ideas, developing opinions, and learning more about each other 🙂 But you have a point... 😛

She is simply trying to grow up in a very public celebrity world and stay on top of her game. No one could go on being Hanna Montana for ever.

Angelina Jolie was an absolute shocker when she was that young but now she is an activist and UNHCR ambassador.

Thanks, that's exactly my drift. Miley is young and everyone at that age has the pressure of boyfriends/girlfriends/sexuality/friends/finding your 'calling'/keeping parents happy/etc. Add on the pressure of a music career AND living in the spotlight, I think anyone would go a little wild in their spare time 😛
