dear serena, when your getting beaten by a better player on the day best not to be a cow and start blaming others.

they wont overturn the umpires ruling and all you get is a reputation of being a bad sport.

last week it was an umpire grilled for 'helping' nick kyrios. and i agreed, umpires are not there to offer support to players, just do their job.

that includes watching coaches incase they attempt to 'help' their player if that players having problems, thats not allowed.

even if the player says they didnt see the coaches signals.

her coach has admitted to coaching from the box, end of story. 1st warning.

serenas destroying of rackets, cant argue with that either. 2nd warning.

then abusing the umpire, ok i may think being called a thief is no big deal, this umpire did, and thats all that matters. 3rd warning/penalty.

serena is no beginner here, shes a very seasoned professional. she knows when your on a 2nd warning you shut up and play.

to argue now it was over the top, no serena you were over the top, you have no excuse for your behaviour.

its obvious she wants to break the record of grandslams and shes not handling the pressure.

pity her actions have completely over shadowed the japanese girls win.

shame on her!

This is typical Serena, nothing is new.

She views herself as the Queen and can't stand being beaten.

How dare her opponent outplay her!

She loses the plot and tries to put her opponent off by becoming

aggressive. She tries to bully the person into submission.

This time it didn't work so she played the sexist card.

What really upset me was Osaka was robbed of her moment and

even apologised to Serena. Again, this is typical. Serena stole her

moment to make the US Open about the victim, not the victor.

As usual, she wins the attention.

Agree, have always thought of the two Williams sisters as spoilt attention seekers.

They played some great tennis but never liked them.

Take me back to the days of Steffi Graf and Stefan Edberg anyday.

OMG! now its 'we want umpires to umpire badly all the time?'

i'm really angry so many are supporting serenas outburst.

the umpire made no errors, he umpired to the rules.

the whole 'well others get away with it' is not the issue.

thats like telling a cop 'dont give me a fine for speeding, others were doing it too'

better idea, how about serena and her cohorts start playing fair?

she should be angry at her coach, he admitted coaching from the 'box'

she should be angry at herself, she threw her racket, smashing it. (how many kids would die for that racket? not broken)

she should be really angry at herself also for not acting 'grown up' and going for the 'its because in a woman' card!

Lets be hoinest here, Serena is only an angel when she wins, she has always had a nasty side, sometimes she cannot hide it, Hope she never breaks that record, she does not deserve it. Her opponent went on to win the Grand Slam, well done.

Those howling "sexism!" are unaware that the very same umpire has handed out similar penalties to several male players.

As with so many "equality" issues, it's a case of only wanting equality when it works in your favour - the second it doesn't, cry "discrimination". Pathetic.

serena makes claims she fighting for women to be equal with men, where is she on women playing 5 sets?

the silence is deafening!

oh we want equal pay but we still wanna play 2 sets, 3 at a max!

most womens matches last about an hour, plenty of mens games are over 3 hours.

i dont see any racism in the cartoon, i see a cartoon showing pretty much what happened.

no, the umpire didnt ask naomi to 'let her win' but the 'i'm serena williams and i'm in charge' was the message serena was putting out loud and clear.

'you will never umpire any court i'm on again'....oh yeah, i'm serena williams you loser!

theres an old saying, no player is bigger than the game.

the sooner serena leaves the court the better. tennis wont miss her.

people will still fill the courts, people will still see tennis matches.

but maybe they wont see child like tantrums from so called professional players, we can only hope.

anyone who goes to any sporting event hoping to see a tantrum is there for the wrong reasons.

i hope all governing bodies of sports have rules outlawing the tantrum. and they enforce them!

its so very very sad one young players 'moment' has been lost because another player couldnt take the pressure.

The"queen" does not like losing, just like a lot of the present prima donas going around in sport today:

2009 semi-final vs Kim Clijsters: Williams threatens to shove the ball down the throat of a lineswoman who called her for a foot fault, earning her second violation of the match. She's penalised a point, which hands the match to Clijsters. Loses 6-4, 7-5.
2011 final vs Sam Stosur: Williams shouts as Stosur is trying to return a ball. Because Stosur had a play and the shout was intentional, she's penalised a point and incorrectly says umpire Eva Asderaki was "the one that screwed me over last time here". the way i see it, the umpire has nothing to be sorry about, he umpired as it should be done.

serena has a lot to say sorry about.

sorry she was wrong about the 'coaching penalty'

her coach admitted he coached from the box, it doesnt matter she says she didnt see it or get an advantage from it.

sorry she smashed an expensive racket during her hissy fit!

i bet that racket would cost a lot of money in the shop, if you can buy that racket, its prolly not an 'off the shelf' model.

sorry she felt she is more important than anyone else in tennis.

more important than the rules.

more important than her opponent.

more important than the umpire.

more important than the paying viewers.

sorry to women everywhere for making it a gender thing.

it was never a gender thing, it was all about a 'behaviour' thing.

and tennis america has an opology to make to that umpire for backing a player over the umpire who did nothing wrong.

maybe a different umpire would not have noticed her coach giving signals.

maybe a different umpire would not have reacted to being called a theif.

who knows.

maybe on a different day it would have begun raining and the match would be delayed while they closed the roof and serena would compose herself and return to obliterate the other girl.

it doesnt matter, we work on what happened not what might of happened.

what happened was serena blew a fuse and suffered for it.
