look, i think its time for our legal system to realise they are in the 21st century now, the days of controlling information getting out are gone.

read the article, i was responding to the bit where a lawyer was saying because social media has exposed the driver of the stolen 4WD

he might get off

the towie was not at fault agreed, seperate issue, he too is a victim

A grief-stricken community has come together to mourn a couple hit and killed by a car while walking their dogs on Australia Day.
Parents-to-be Katherine Jane Leadbetter and her partner Matthew Philip Field died when they were struck by the car, allegedly being driven by a teenager inside a stolen 4WD.
He's since been charged with two counts of murder.

Ms Leadbetter, 31, and Mr Field, 37, were hit by the Landcruiser 4WD as it sped through a red light at Finucane Road and Vienna Road in Brisbane on Tuesday night.

The couple were expecting a child together. (Facebook)

Ms Leadbetter, an interior stylist, was six months pregnant at the time of the crash.
One of the couple's dogs, Frankie, went missing after the crash and was found in bushland on Wednesday. She has been taken to the vet.
The couple's other dog is in the care of family.

Beyond sad! Three lives taken just like that. One selfish act causes this. Their families are now crushed.

Seems - a teen with a fairly long rap sheet nicked a 4 wheel drive.

He plowed the 4 wheel drive into the tow truck - which caused - in turn - the death of this young couple.

Having read the whole - I hope the teen is put where he can do no more devestation - for some considerable time.

It will be interesting to see - 2 murders - possibly 3 given the unborn - how far the book will be thrown.

The little 17 year old thug is being tried in children's court, nothing too severe will come of it.

Just watch, the justice he deserves will not be forthcoming and these poeple are gone forever from their family's.

Makes me freaking sick the laws/justice [or rather lack of] in Australia.

Yes, as a minor, in children's court.

We heard on the news that he could get a maximum of 10 years, which means he will be only 27 when he gets out (not allowing for early release with parole, which could happen).

even if he was an adult murder is premeditated so at worst it'll be tripple manslaughter

they would have great difficulty getting murder to stick

soon we will be hearing about his broken home and being abused as a child

If he has any heart then the gravity of what he has done, the destruction of these lovely young lives will haunt him for the rest of his life.
