For months it has bugged me that I seem to be the one that phones my friends for chat, they never contact me. I'm the one that will go and visit them, yet they they never invite for a coffee. I send a message through Facebook or send a text and they never reply.

Do you think I have right to be annoyed?

Yes be annoyed

I felt the same way with some of my friends so I stopped phoning them. After some time I started to get calls from them to make sure that I was still alive.

I think that is a fact of life, some do, some don't. I have a very good friend who usually phones me first... every time.... but in my defence, I hate talking on the phone.

It never used to bother me, if I heard that they were sick or in hospital (always heard third party) I'd phone or visit them. I'd listen to thier troubles, but never once have they done the same.

I'm very tired today, so maybe I'm just extra sensitive

Are they genuine friends ? I know that even a long term friend can dump you.

Every so often I go through that with friends and think well I phone the last two times

so now it's their turn. Natural to be annoyed, friendship should be a two way thing,

but it's not always easy.

yeh, i was the same and my hubby always used to say to me that friends are more trouble then they are worth.

Have you thought of getting your dog seen to by a "I don't know what" but that dog would see me running a mile.

Seriously I have felt that for the last year or so and in a way I know why but it doesn't make it any easier when I am feeling unwell or lonely or down in the dumps.

i sometimes feel very selfish and me me me thinking that way about my friends because I have some difficulty getting out and about so haven't been able to seen them much this last year and without going into all the details they are very busy helping another friend who has had some very major tragedies in the last year leaving her in a terrible way. If I had gone through those tragedies my friends would be busy helping me so I can't complain. I know they will be there if ever needed.

.... I am one of those that waits for friends to contact me. ....:)

OP, try dropping off the map for a while, those that contact you to check on your welfare are the ones that really are your friends.

I admit I am hopeless at keeping contact with friends - there are just so many of them to think about and life is too busy.

But I have lots of friends that are like you happyroo and they keep calling me. I am very (VERY!) grateful that they do cause I'd be friendless without them. 🙂

I've decided to cut back on the contact a bit, not so often and I'll still be friendly to them.

Lack of sleep can mess with your mind. :^O

Yes that can be very revealing and one way of finding out who cares
