I have an item I purchased on Ebay that was advertised with 12 month warranty. I have contacted the seller about 4 times but have received no reply. I have contcted Ebay and received a reference ID number but don't know how to get in touch with Ebay for an update. I conatced Ebay about 2 weeks ago and all I've received back was an ID number.

How do I contact Ebay for an update?

You can't, as there will be no update

There is no warranty, unless the seller is an authorised seller/re-seller of the brand

Regardless of what the ad 'said'

It does not exist and is not enforceable

If in the unlikely event you did indeed buy from an authorised seller, contact the company directly

The eBay money back guarantee is not a warranty, so if it is more than 30 days past the estimated delivery date, you are not covered by eBay for the item

eBay do not provide nor enforce warranties

You do not need the seller to reply to you in order to open a dispute

How long ago did you buy?

What was the item number?

4buddy7, I hope it wasn't too expensive, whatever you bought, because the sad fact is you have lost your money.

You need to take note of every word sandy said as generally speaking, there are no valid warranties on ebay, unless you're buying from an authorised seller.

You are not the first to fall for it and you won't be the last. But think about it. A random seller can say anything, offer any length of warranty, but if things go wrong down the track, just how are you going to make a claim?

It's hard enough with legitimate companies and warranties sometimes, let alone random, non authorised sellers on ebay.

Ebay is just not the right place to buy some products and buying direct from China may be okay for some things but definitely not for electricals, phones etc
