Only after three days of requests did the item appear on face value to be picked up

I do not accept the excuses that delayed this item seven days

A full explanation is requested before I consider closing this dispute.

BECAUSE IF A BAR CODED ITEM CAN DROP OFF THE RADAR FOR SEVEN DAYS ITS EITHER IN SOME DARK PLACE, ITS BEEN STOLEN OR IT NEVER GOT SENT IN THE FIRST PLACE

Do you realize that the seller does not own or control the mail service? It would be a rhetorical question except that you are prone to leaving negs & follow up comments about this issue with sellers quite regularly.& many other things.

If i post a satchel with tracking at Aust Post,the first scan is done to say it was lodged & at what time.It is often not scanned at all after this point & i have no control over this or anything else after i hand a parcel to A.P.

You have already left fb about this seller by the look of it,or is that one of the many other sellers who slighted you in some way?

SOME DARK PLACE ; otherwise known as third party local carriers/agents, contracted by many of the major carriers to collect goods locally and then deliver those goods to the major carriers nearest outlet/hub where the major carrier takes over, or else await collection by the major carrier when next they send a truck that way. When this occurs a tell tale sign is often that there is a lengthy delay after 'shipping information received' and any further activity. Such third party carriers often don't have scanners for scanning tracking numbers either. Sometimes these third party contractors can take their fine time about it, most probably because there isn't a great deal of volume in that locality or to the relevant major carrier from that locality, so they're waiting on a full load before delivering it on to the major carrier.

Unfortunately the third party carriers don't have their own reputation at stake, and so aren't willing to lose money on transporting a handful of packages just to keep some person half a world away from getting their knickers in a knot.

If that's what's causing the delay, it's hard to blame a seller for it, as sellers have no control over what the carriers do after they've handed over the parcel. Often the same third party carrier/agent is contracted by all the major carriers in that locality, so it may not even matter which major carrier was chosen by the seller, as the delays would be the same. Some days it might time right with when a delivery out was about to be made by the third party carrier, others it might have just missed a load going out... it can be very random.

I should have added that... sometimes the major carriers wait until there's sufficient cargo awaiting collection to warrant their sending a truck/van to collect it. Which imo is most probably what has occurred in your instance. Again, you seem to be blaming the seller unfairly.

I'm going to be totally honest here.

I am sick to death of buyers blaming sellers for postal delays.

WE DO NOT CONTROL THE POSTAL SERVICE. We don't have control over the speed on which it gets to the buyers.
We don't have control over third party couriers, scanning events, how quickly it gets picked up and passed on to wherever it needs to go.

The only thing we have control over is when we lodge the item. I.E How quickly we post it. After that it is completely out of our control.

And you suggesting to leaving negative feedback because of a delay with the postal service is utterly pathetic on your part. And according to feedback you leave for others you seem to have 'issues' often.

It's buyers like you that shut honest and reliable sellers down because you can't distinguish between a seller on eBay and a Postal Company.

Just because something isn't scanned as quickly as you would like does not mean that the seller didn't post it when they said they did. Do you realise, that things don't get scanned on pickup quite often, sometimes it can be days before something shows up in the system. How is that the sellers responsibility?

One for my 'special list.'

Think we are dealing with the 'immediate generation'.

Probably never sent :

a letter, (then waited a fortnight for a reply)

a birthday card (a week early to get it there),

a present (again, early to get it there),

pay a bill by snail mail (again, early to get it there)

No all emails & facebook & sms's & all those boring thingos lacking in personal contact.

Send out items BEFORE the buyer places the order, that way it turns up on their doorstep before they even realise they wanted to buy it.

Is there any point at all ranting about the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE on the Australian boards? There is nothing that we can do about it,

I would suggest that if you want to change the system in the UNITED STATES you should post on the US boards. You might even be lucky and find someone who will take pity on you and offer some sympathy after they have finished laughing at your unrealistic attitude.

It seems like the order was sent or picked up late. I get it all the time with a few places, they create the shipping documents and take a couple of days to send, especially when the shipment is late to begin with.

What I find amusing is, this buyer seems to leave feedback for the seller BEFORE he has even received the item, then goes back afterwards and rubbishes the seller. Why would someone do that? It makes no sense to me.

I suppose at least he hasn't trashed their rating by leaving feedback and DSR's before taking possession of whatever he has bought. Too late to do it after receiving it as the feedback has already been left. Leaving a follow up achieves nothing because when buyers check a sellers feedback, they usually only check neutrals and negs.
