Hi all, paid for an item on 14th this month, posted from QLD to NSW. Item still not received as of this date. Seller has sent the item as it can be tracked to Aust Post depot in Sydney, but that's where it stops. Contacted Aust Post and they said the sender must contact them and lodge a missing parcel report. I contacted the seller and complained that I hadn't received the item, and that if it doesn't show up by this Friday, that I want a refund, as it has been over two weeks since payment was made. The seller replied saying that they won't refund until they get the item back from Aust Post. So, where does that leave me, they have my money, I have no item, and I am supposed to hang around while the seller and Aust Post argue about it? We buy an item, pay for a safe delivery, things go wrong and the buyer is expected to just cop it sweet. It is signature required, so the seller can be sure that if it gets delivered, after they refund, they will know about the dishonesty, if any.

The seller is being a moron. The buyer has no ability to get a result from Australia post only the seller can and they quite obviously aren't interested in doing anything. If a seller can't deal with a stuff up then yes the blame lays with them. Unless you think that it's fine to pay for things and never get them

I had an item I sold lost by Australia post years ago. I refunded buyer immediately. It took me eighteen months to get my money back from Australia post with a result only after contacting the ombudsman.
I buy and I sell. If you sell and can't deal with stuff ups then don't sell. Australia post stuffs up all the time. An adult deals with it

Why should your seller be any different?

You do realise you have 180 days from purchase date to open an INR through Paypal, which you would likely lose as they can prove postage, or 30 days from the latest eBay delivery date for a MBG claim?

I have never waited this timeframe for a delivery from within Aust. Even WA, which is understandably longer to NSW, arrives within 7 to 10 days. If I was to sell something and it goes missing, I would certainly refund the seller, rather than make them wait while I sort it out with the responsible party who lost it. Why should the buyer, who has paid good money, have to wait for a resolution, when it is not their fault or problem. I never stated that I required the item urgently, but it is reasonable to expect an item from QLD to NSW to not take over two weeks delivery time. I must remember, next time I need a good kicking, just share an experience on these boards.

Certainly makes one realize how helpful some members can be.

As ebay have given the buyer a 30 day MBG then all buyers need to calm down and take a chill pill.

AP times vary and sometimes things go wrong and you don't receive your item on time but that doesn't mean

that you go for the sellers throat lol.

99.99% of sellers will help out when things go wrong so when they do just be polite about it.

Buyers have it made these days with all that protection they have been given,it's the poor sellers

that have to put up with all the BS.

Funny how in thirteen years of buying and selling on eBay I've only ever been stuffed around by sellers. Maybe more sellers need to provide better customer service.
In this case the seller is being unreasonable to ask for return of the item before refunding. Only the sender is able to claim through Australia post. Therefore the seller needs to deal with Australia post but you obviously don't care about the actual situation you just want to annoy me.
Maybe if you're customer service was better you wouldn't of had your selling curtailed.
I have worked in customer service most of my life. 100% feedback and not a single unhappy buyer but I meet pathetically incompetent sellers all the time
