That gave me a good laugh, that did. The idea of misplacing a whole helicopter.

But I know that in any half way large workplace, it is ridiculously easy for things to go missing.

Many years ago when my daughter was quite little with a lot of medical issues, the hospital lent me what would have been a valuable piece of monitoring equipment to take home on loan. I had to sign for it and it was heavy as. Really top quality industrial strength

I used it on and off for a couple of years then noticed the electrical safety check was way overdue plus my daughter didn't really need it any more so I took it back.

Everyone was very surprised to see it & no one had a clue about any written records.

how can a seller get it so wrong? ordered something from queensland. i live in country south australia. i get a tracking number from 'fastaway' couriers. i check the number today as today was the last day of the predicted delivery time.

i discover my items in perth and there is a message attached saying they have been unable to deliver my item! possibly because i dont live in perth i suspect but who knows.

i just dont get it, when i sell something on ebay i get all the information i require to safely send it to my buyer. only i can screw it up by not sending it where its supposed to go.

just as well its a cheap item and i didnt need it in a hurry.

Is this the fault of the seller or the courier? I've had perfectly addressed items returned before because the carrier couldn't read/be bothered/ whatever.

Marina.

Maybe it went to Perth because all of SA was off the map?

I can't believe you would even consider blaming the seller for the inadequacies of the carrier. The fact that they chose the carrier, maybe, but then YOU accepted that carrier by purchasing.

Ergo: you get what you paid for. And fastway aren't the only carrier to send goods on tours, as you well know.

i did not choose the courier company 'fastaway'

i paid $8 postage for "Standard Postage (Australia Post Parcel Post Parcel)"

so the seller chose 'fasaway' not me, then i can only sumise put the wrong bloomin' address on the package! that makes it the sellers fault in my book.

So is it 'fasway', fastaway' or, more likely 'fastway'?

You might have an issue there, given it wasn't AP, but you might have noticed your whole State was off the grid for a while a few days ago.

As a seller, I would hope a buyer would allow a bit of leeway for TWO one in fifty year storm events in a fortnight. As a buyer in such a situation I would not be particularly worried about something being in Perth instead of the crick down the road that has suddenly become a state-wide lake.

That's just me, so feel free to penalise the seller for the weather. That would put you into the vast majority of consumers. Whether that is a fit for you, like punishing a seller for things out of their control,, is entirely your choice.

the really funny bit is that as my parcel was collected on the 26th and the company attempted to deliver it at the nonexistent address in perth on the 3rd, the truck must have gone via south australia. unless standard postage gets me air freight from queensland to perth.

perhaps i was supposed to go wait on highway 1 for the truck to pass by?

david, some time back a seller posted the connote numbers for some couriered items he had sent to a buyer. That was a bad thing to do on the boards because anyone could go to the courier website and input he connote numbers and see the details of the delivery, including buyer name, address, phone number etc.

Have you been able to see the connote details online?

all i have is the tracking number in my items order description.

i click on that and go to the fastway track your item page where it automatically shows a list of events from collection to delivery.

the first even was collection on the 26th of sept at 10.15 am

next event was same day, your item is in transit to our PERTH depot. 11.50am

(so nothing to do with the weather as to why it was sent to perth)

next event was your items on board for delivery today (this i presume means it was with a person in a van going to my house, which it of course couldnt be unless i lived in PERTH)

next event was 13.12pm on the 3rd of octobe 'unfortunatly we are unable to deliver your item we will contact sender for more information'

next event 7.21am 4th of october 'your item is onboard for delivery today (again)

next event 13.04 same day 4th, unable to deliver your item ect ect.

now i really dont care if the items delivered by a blind man leading a donkey as long as i get it when i should.

the fact the sender didnt send it by australia post wouldnt bother me had the item arrived here, where i actually live in the time frame allotted. its only a problem when a seller changes the delivery method without warning the buyer and then the delivery goes wandering off course. had the item turned up when it should have i would not be annoyed that it came via fastway and not australia post. if fact i prolly would not have known it was supposed to come via australia post and not fastway. i dont look that closly at mailing info when i buy, i look at the price for post and if its ok i buy. its the seller who has to be sure he or she is posting via the method in the listing.

in this case this seller needs a kick up the pants for not using australia post without contacting me and asking is it ok they change derlivery companys.

Is there a place in Perth that has the same name as your town? Jump on google maps and find out. You never know.

I got a notification from my My Post app on Tuesday, an item I sent to Victoria has been marked as returned to sender, not known at that address. I contacted the buyer to verify their address and they said it was correct, so not sure what has happened. I guess I'll find out when it arrives back eventually.

She had it sent to her work address, which appeared to be only a small establishment, where everyone would know everyone. She said when it arrives to send it to her home address. I'm not sure she realises she's going to have to pay for that. I'm blowed if I'm forking out $7.60 in postage to resend her $8 item (unless of course it was my mistake).

there could be a place in WA near perth called wallaroo but its not easy to find. google maps sort of shows it but doesnt name it on my google map, just shows a pink coloured area but no name.

another site does show a wallaroo but nothing else really. i dont know if its an area called wallaroo or a town or a post with wallaroo on it.

however when i type wallaroo into google i get lots of pages to do with my town, and google maps goes straight to wallaroo south australia when i just type 'wallaroo' in.

i've now recieved a message from the seller saying it was the fastway company thats at fault. i find that hard to believe as they would or should be going by the address supplied by the seller.

if the seller used the address from ebay there couldnt be an issue, ive never had an item sent to wallaroo in WA before.

seller has now said they have resent my item via australia post so i most likley will never know what the address on the other box was.

maybe this will make the seller less likely to post via a different company from what was in the listing, maybe not.

i dont know how much was going to be saved going with fastway and not australia post.

There is a Wanneroo in Perth but ultimately I would have thought the post code would be the key...

The seller should at least accept some responsibility for sending it by courier in the first place, instead of AP. Guess it's easier to just pass the buck.

I sent a parcel by AP to a buyer in Bunbury WA with the correct postcode. I had a photo of the parcel to show I had addressed it correctly. Over a 3 week period there were 3 attempted deliveries to Sunbury, Victoria - frustrating, but mistakes happen with any postal service.
