I don't think the OP was in a tiz - his post was asking how to email eBay about making a suggestion.

The details of why he wants to make a suggestion are incidental, yet tippy*toes replied with a condescending remark about buying cable ties from a supermarket, followed by the veiled judgement, "Not my fault if a seller can't keep track of what they have bought from whom", then some more pointless mocking from jeanababe.

Some of the regulars here need to step back and consider how their responses come across to members post here for the first time - probably goes some way to explaining why these boards are only frequented by the same handful of posters week after week.

I'd like to email eBay with a suggestion but there is no way to do this. I don't have the time to chat or phone & a simple email would be best. My suggestion is that the sellers identify themselves on the posted item. I have no idea who the items are from when I receive them & this is a problem. If I need an item in a hurry I sometimes order the same item from 2 sellers because it can take 2 months or more to receive them. For example - I needed some zip ties in a hurry so I placed 2 orders, 1 has arrived but I have no idea who it is from so I can't leave feedback & I don't know who is the fastest to order from in the future. The only information on the package is in Chinese so I don't know if the sellers name is there or not. Is it possible for eBay to require the sellers to include their trading name in the package?

Even if ebay did respond to your email (which is very unlikely as it is manned by bots) it is more than likely you would only get an automated response which has nothing to do with what you asked

Could you in the 'note to seller' section ask if they can include their ebay username on the back of the package?

Pretty silly omission from the sellers for exactly the reason you've described. You'd better put in an INR report for both sellers since you don't know which it is!

I have a little 1/2 bussines-card sized note I include with any items I sell with a short thank you message on it and my eBay user name, so the receiver knows who the item is from. The might be able to tell from the return address on the postage label, but my little note in with item makes sure they do.

Geez, if I needed cable ties that quickly, I'd have just gone to Bunnings, the local hardware shop, or even just the local supermarket. Most people live pretty close to the supermarket.

FYI, I never put my username with my parcels. The best a buyer can hope for is my first name. It's my choice what I put on a parcel. Nothing to do with eBay. I also highly doubt that would ever be a requirement of selling. Not my fault if a seller can't keep track of what they have bought from whom.

Stephen I'm 160km each way from the nearest post office let alone Bunnings so I'm with you there and know what a challenge it is living in a remote community. Sadly the mail comes here only twice a week so very slow to get stuff. I reckon you'd walk from here to Bunnings and back faster than postage time.

However the senders details like name and address should be on the parcel and match with the sellers details you can access on eBay. Difficult if in Chinese but really if you're ordering from china to get stuff fast you're not going to be happy anyway.

I have a list of preferred sellers who give good service & use them wherever possible. That's why I like to know the seller's name - so I can add them (or NOT) to my list.
I've actually done exactly the same thing as the OP has described - ordered two identical items from China from two different sellers to hedge my bets on at least one arriving in a reasonable amount of time.

From memory it was around a dollar or two shipped for each item, and the cheapest I could get a similar item delivered from an Aussie supplier (eBay or otherwise) was around $15, so for a non-essential little thing I'd eventually use, I figured wait a little longer and save $10.

yes, but when a buyer gets themselves into tiz over sellers not putting any ID on/in the item from China (probably a cheap few $ items) the extra $ would be worth it as it would save so much worrying.

No 'tiz' & it takes a hell of a lot to get me worried. Altho' I do admit it's a bit of a worry about the number of Trolls & **bleep**s on these community notice boards.
It does make good business sense to identify yourself, in English, on the label - for returns & so the buyer knows who to give good (or bad) feedback about. With a bit of luck when the other lot arrive (or IF they ever do) they'll have some sort of ID. Meanwhile, I've now got 250 cable-ties & they'll last a while.
