bought iphone 4s, battery was dead and back cover warped and not attached properly. they were not interested in replacing and offered a 5% refund. eventually we negotiated 50% but they made excuses never paid and stopped replying to messages.

If a seller is not helpful then you have 2 options for opening a case.

Provided you paid via PayPal.

1. You can open an eBay case 30 days from last estimated delivery date. (eBay resolution centre)

2. You have 180 days in PayPal to open a case for INAD. (PayPal resolution centre)

And never close a case until you have satisfaction.

Your seller has abysmal feedback.97.5% is awful for a high volume seller. (I wouldn't purchase from a high-volume seller who had less than 99.5%.)

Also, it's very clear that the seller is in China. (Click onto feedback score, and it takes you to the seller's feedback profile while states "Member since: 05-Mar-10 in China")

Never never never never never never NEVER buy a phone or an electronic item from a Chinese seller on eBay.

Many of the negatives in the seller's feedback, to be fair, are from sadly unthinking Australian buyers who don't seem to realise that Customs will NOT let seeds from China into the country, and who haven't read eBay's Plants and seeds policy. But the rest of the negatives are still sufficiently apt to warn you about dealing with this seller. I've just listed some of the most recent negatives specifically about iPhones:

You should not have settled for a 50% refund. How long ago did you purchase this phone? You may be able to get the remainder of the purchase refunded through PayPal, but can you post the timeframe here before you do anything further?
