Signature on delivery.

I use the Ebay Satchels and I always use the signature option...

how important do you think this option is?

It puts an extra cost onto the postage and I have some cheaper items that I want to offer free postage but that means I need to use envelopes and no signature to make it affordable.

Is that a risk worth taking...

In the last six months or so I have never had a problem with any delivery using the satchels with signature.... do you think I will have problems if I use the cheaper option?

Signature items rarely go missing for that reason, they are tracked.

You may find normal delivery 1 or 2 go astray now and then.

Depends on the cost of the item, if they are under $5, it may be worth the chance, as you will need to refund or resend if a not received item case is opened and you can't prove postage.

All items cost price are under $2

I figure that it might be worth the chance...

I dropped postage on one item that I have not been able to budge... to my surprise I sold 6 of them over night and that meant that I could send them in an Ebay satchel as they were all to one person and still make a good profit.

I started off using signature at $7.20, then I got told I was throwing away my money and I saw the point, so I went back to no sig at $6.20- they are still tracked.

Having said that I sold one item that exceeded my wildest dreams price wise and that went off yesterday signed-for, but in future I would only use extra cover for expensive items as the C&S service does compensate up to $50.

Unless you use the signature option C&S will not pay any compensation for a lost satchel, if you use the signature you will be covered for $100

I charge $7.20 for all my postage so I am not paying the customer is... so really not a cost upon me...

But the cheaper items that were not moving were bugging, I want them sold.. lol

If I send them in an envelope and they are lost I have charged enough to be able to resend and not be out of pocket...

If they get lost a second time then I guess I refund and block the buyer...

Cats_back are you saying you charge $7.20 for postage and then send in an envelope? good luck with that one, if you are 😮

My parcels get dumped on the verandah whether they're 'signed for' or not. i still get carded for 'proper' registered mail but not the click and send ones, so I wonder who else this happens to.

My postie often sits my parcels on top of my letter box. I've have none stolen if you can believe it!

As for my registered post, I don't even sign for those! I've complained to AusPost because my driver must be signing them himself, but nothing has been done, of course.

I've not have one parcel in over a year actually delivered correctly. Not one.

lol.. omg .. no... If people pay the $7.20 they get click and send with signature...

I have some items I got at a fantastic price... I paid $2 for them but charge $6.... I can post them for $1.50 if I put them in an envelope... I have had them listed with the $7.20 click and send but have never sold any...

I made a sale and had free postage and overnight I sold 6 to one person.

In reality with the postage the cost to a customer was more expensive from me than from a store so I get why none sold.

I was just curious as to who posts without signature and how successful they have been.

I have a great postie.... if I am not home they leave it at the local post office.

I was more shocked by another company that delivered my $800 phone and left it at my front door 😮

I have never used the C&S signature option and send anything that will fit in an envelope that way. I have never had anything go missing.

Whilst non-signature services are allegedly not covered by AP, I would put it to the test if it happened to me and the tracking showed they'd lost the parcel. Plus you have Paypal protection and thus the time to track it down before you refund the buyer.
