Hi friends. just a quick question. For those Aussie sellers who have received a Western Union Money Order from the USA, have you been able to cash it? If so, where? Aus Post wont cash it....

Is it in Aus$? If so then you should be able to cash it.

If it is in $US then you may be able to deposit into your bank account but it will probably cost you a fair amount in fees for the currency conversion.

Hi thanks for the reply. It has been made out to the amount owing in australian dollars, but I cant see anywhere at all where it says AU$ or anything like that.

I might have to take it into the bank and ask them.

I believe you can still cash it at a Westpac Bank branch...just an over the counter transaction. Not sure if it a fixed fee or a % of the value of the money order. If it is no AU$ there will not be a currency conversion fee.

Hey, I use western Union all the time.. not all places will cash it (for their own reasons) If they do, they will have a banner on their window or inside the shop saying that they will do it...

Just to say yourself some time though, go to the western Union website and click on "Find locations" they will tell you which places you can cash it in. 😃
