I have noticed a "seller" who hasn't got any fb for selling, only buying, is listing, then the item is abruptly withdrawn "due to the item no longer being available. I'm disappointed cos I had a couple of these in my watch list intending to bid and I'm thinking they don't want to pay ebay fees. This has happened to a least 3 listings today. Any thoughts?

I think that some sellers get nervous that their item won't be 'bid up' to the $ that they want (was the start price considerably low?), so if there is no bidding activity and the item is getting close to ending they 'get in first' and end the listing. I feel this is wrong, if a seller is not willing to sell for .99 cents, they should not start bidding at .99 cents!

It also could be legit (not likely on 3 separte items, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt), I once listed a 4-foot aquairum and accidently dropped it before the auction ended so I had to end the listing before anyone bid on it.

Thanks for input, but items were listed and then removed because "they were no longer available". On one item it was stated that they had the right to remove listing because it was advertised elsewhere. I contacted them to say it was against ebay rules and they said they didn't know that. Other listings lasted 12 - 14 hours so no-one got the chance to bid them up. There are still more active listings so I made contact again to ask what was going on cos I wanted to bid but so far no reply.

Have just read my own message and I sound whiney.....sorry, don't mean to

@i_am_shellybell wrote:

I think that some sellers get nervous that their item won't be 'bid up' to the $ that they want (was the start price considerably low?), so if there is no bidding activity and the item is getting close to ending they 'get in first' and end the listing.

Nevertheless, it might pay to change your ID to a less confronting one.

I did and my sales increased. Maybe. They did increase but that is not necessarily because I changed my ID.. Wouldn't hurt, though. Especially given your level of feedback - it's not really up there in the trusted buyer stakes.

Point taken, but I am only buying in Swap Card Land and its plenty feedback for the dealers there.

I do have trouble getting FB for large purchases though.Spend small, get great FB - spend large and I've

gotta ask em politely. Still don't always get it tho. It's a whole other world in Swap Card Land. I have made

over 100 purchases for my lousy FB number!

I'm a bookie. Generally I get 66% on sold stuff. 100% on bought stuff - but that is because my purchases are from sellers who leave feedback on payment. Which is posting supplies.
